Vicki and Evan | Glacier Point Engagement Session | Yosemite National Park

This is an early morning engagement session from Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park. Pretty much the only way to shoot a session in the summer is to get their early and on a Monday. It's a truly magical location and Vicki and Even were super relaxed and ready to have fun. After shooting for a while at Glacier Point, we headed down to Yosemite Valley to finish the session in the forest and meadows found all over the valley floor.

Vicki and Evan | Cathedral Beach Wedding | Yosemite National Park

Vicki and Evan were married at the edge of the Merced River next to what would have been Cathedral Beach if we hadn't had a massively wet winter. The river was close to flood stage, and their officiant didn't make it on time due to extreme summer weekend traffic, but the bride's friend/wedding planner saved the ceremony by using her single bar of data on her phone to get herself ordained and then proceeded to knock it out of the park. Throw in some great dancers and the whole wedding day was a fantastic party. Enjoy a few of my favorites.

Alexandra and Renner | Ahwahnee Hotel Wedding Photography | Yosemite National Park

Yosemite is seeing a lot of action from wedding photographers Mark Janzen and Craig Kohlruss. Alexandra and Renner's wedding is the latest and it was a beautiful wedding. Craig thoroughly enjoyed being the photographer chosen to cover this day. Arriving just after sunrise, Craig photographed the sunrise over Half Dome and then moved on to cover Alex and Renner's preparations at the Ahwahnee hotel. I love the distinctive spiral seating for all their guests during the ceremony, with the couple stationed at the center for their wedding. Rebecca and Louis | Yosemite Engagement Photographs | Yosemite National Park

I'm so fortunate to be a photographer in Central California. Working here means that Yosemite is right in my backyard and I get a chance to photograph quite a few weddings and engagement sessions in Yosemite Valley. Nothing on Earth can beat El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and the rest of the natural monuments in Yosemite as photography backdrops. This time around I was lucky enough to be chosen by Rebecca and Louis to be the wedding photographer at their Yosemite wedding at the Ahwahnee this coming fall. This is their engagement session, enjoy some of my favorite images from the shoot.

Erin and Justin | Ranch Engagement Session | Kerman, CA

This is the first engagement session Craig Kohlruss has photographed for Mark Janzen Photography, and it was a great one! I was really jealous that I wasn't able to shoot it myself - it's not every day you get a session with horses - but Craig totally knocked it out of the park though, here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Erika and Craig | Ranch Wedding | Madera, CA

Erika and Craig are one of those couples that are just a joy to photograph. Erika is a complete ham and just seems to be having an amazing time ALL the time and Craig is just this laid back guy totally happy to be along for the ride. It was a nice warm day that wasn't nearly as hot as it was supposed to be, with some great light just in time for the couple's portraits, and we just made it in time for a really cool portrait at dusk just before we lost all the color in the sky. And then there was the dance floor...I can't really put that into words, you'll have to look at the pictures. Enjoy!

Michelle and Justin | White Horse Inn Wedding | Three Rivers, CA

Michelle and Justin were married next to the Kaweah River in Three Rivers, CA. The river was just raging from all the snow melt on this warm summer day. Michelle and Justin are friends of another couple who I photographed a couple years ago and it was great to seem them again. The White Horse Inn is a truly unique venue, I don't think there's as much "green" anywhere else, it's a beautiful property for sure! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day...enjoy!
