Brittany and Kevin | Wedding from Paradise Springs | Oakhurst, CA

Hands down, Paradise Springs is my favorite venue in the Central Valley. High enough to get above the heat, tons of space for guests to make a weekend out of a wedding, and surrounded by an amazing forest with a huge selection of different locations for a ceremony. Not to mention, it's only a few minutes outside the south gate of Yosemite National Park which makes it a fantastic base camp for adventures in the park. Have your wedding in a laid back, mountain atmosphere, with all the grandeur of Yosemite just a short drive away. Brittany and Kevin put all that space to use - even having a good number of their guests camping on the grounds. For a

Sarah and Zak | Majestic Yosemite Hotel Wedding | Yosemite National Park, CA

Yosemite National Park is a stunning venue for a wedding no matter the season, but fall is truly magical. The falls may not be flowing, but the grandeur of the granite is still there, the light is amazing, and the fall color is truly spectacular. To top it all off, the crowds are gone, the days are cool, and you can feel that you have this amazing place all to yourselves for a brief period of time. That's the setting for Sarah and Zak's wedding this past fall. It was one of the most unique and personally meaningful ceremonies I've been witness to. From the "Story of how they met" written by their best friend and officiant, to the coin

Maxine and David | Majestic Yosemite Hotel Wedding | Yosemite National Park

There's something a little extra special about Yosemite in the winter time. The crowds are gone, the skies quickly alternate between sunny and overcast. In many places the sun never gets high enough in the sky to touch the ground for weeks at a time. It's quiet and still, clouds hang on the cliffs and the waterfalls are either still, but if it rained recently they my have a modest flow. But overall, and most importantly, it's quiet. Those days are rare and fleeting in Yosemite and when you get one, it's magical. For a few hours you feel like you have the most beautiful spot on the planet all to yourself. I met Maxine and David on one of those days.

Hilary and Kevin | Yosemite Engagement Session | Yosemite National Park

I will never grow tired of living just down the hill from the amazing Yosemite National Park. Somehow I hit the jackpot when my parents decided to pack us all up and move from Oklahoma to Fresno when I was only 7 years old. Yosemite in the winter, or the off-est of off-seasons is another level of magical. For Hilary and Kevin's session we bailed on all the Super Bowl festivities and headed to the park and were greeted by a beautifully empty valley. We had full run of anywhere we wanted to go, and took full advantage. FEATURED ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS

Julie and Jeffery | Glacier Point Wedding | Yosemite National Park

One of my favorite things about weddings in Yosemite is that they are NEVER alike. I get to meet people from all over the world and the only thing in common is their great love for the mountains and the outdoors. Julie and Jeff were no exception. They live in Colorado but had never actually been to Yosemite before the day of their wedding. They gathered 25 of their closest friends, rented an amazing cabin outside the park, and got their first taste of Yosemite about 10 minutes before we met. It was a blast showing them around and capturing the amazing scenes all around us. Then to cap off the day, we headed out to Taft Point with several

Helen and Nate | Majestic Yosemite Hotel Wedding | Yosemite National Park

I never tire of visiting Yosemite, it's the most incredible landscape on earth and I'm beyond fortunate to live close enough to work there on a regular basis. Throw in an expressive, warm couple and a day couldn't be better. I spent a good portion of the day, really almost all of it, laughing into the back of my camera. Every family member, every friend was truly engaged and present with Helen and Nate and it readily shows in the pictures. So much love, so much laughter at every turn. Helen and Nate spend most of their free time climbing together, and while I'm not a climber, spending the day with people that have a love of Yosemite that matches

Vicki and Evan | Glacier Point Engagement Session | Yosemite National Park

This is an early morning engagement session from Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park. Pretty much the only way to shoot a session in the summer is to get their early and on a Monday. It's a truly magical location and Vicki and Even were super relaxed and ready to have fun. After shooting for a while at Glacier Point, we headed down to Yosemite Valley to finish the session in the forest and meadows found all over the valley floor.

Vicki and Evan | Cathedral Beach Wedding | Yosemite National Park

Vicki and Evan were married at the edge of the Merced River next to what would have been Cathedral Beach if we hadn't had a massively wet winter. The river was close to flood stage, and their officiant didn't make it on time due to extreme summer weekend traffic, but the bride's friend/wedding planner saved the ceremony by using her single bar of data on her phone to get herself ordained and then proceeded to knock it out of the park. Throw in some great dancers and the whole wedding day was a fantastic party. Enjoy a few of my favorites.

Kristi and Brian | Tuolumne Meadows Elopement | Yosemite National Park

Kristi and Brian came to Yosemite all the way from Milwaukee and landed right in the middle of one of the most spectacularly beautiful days I've seen in the park. The clouds, sky, river, everything was amazing. They traveled with two couples as witnesses to their elopement and had their intimate ceremony in the middle of the otherwise deserted Tuolumne Meadows. This was definitely one of the more magical days I've had as a wedding photographer. Enjoy.
