So, I've been sitting on this wedding for over a year and I can't believe it. Yosemite has never looked better at any wedding I've shot - the fall color was amazing, Rebecca and Louis were so amazing to hang out with, and the moments kept coming all day. Katelyn, Chris and I spent a chilly afternoon in beautiful Yosemite National Park for their engagement session. We totally scored with some amazing light and clouds that are the hallmark of the Valley in the winter. We even found some pretty fresh bear tracks in one location, but alas, no bear. Hallie and Matt traveled clear across the United States to get married in the most beautiful place on Earth - Yosemite National Park. I honestly don't think there is a better wedding location than Yosemite. If you haven't been there, you owe it to yourself to make the trek! Hallie and Matt were fabulous - so much energy, so easy to laugh, they're the exact kind of people that make my job so rewarding. Jenn and Brandon's wedding was my last Yosemite wedding of the year and it took advantage of the great fall color in Yosemite Valley. The color was absolutely spectacular and it was a joy to spend the day searching out the most vivid locations. Any wedding day in Yosemite is bound to be a beautiful one, and this day certainly didn't disappoint! Weekday weddings in the park are great as even in the summertime the crowds are smaller and it's pretty easy to get around the valley floor. Daniel and Yi-Hsing are new residents of New York by way of Japan, and on the way they had a little wedding under the apple tree on the Ahwahnee Hotel's Wedding Lawn. Heather called me just a few short months ago to ask me about shooting her wedding in Yosemite. Of course I nearly leapt out of my chair at the chance. I've been going to Yosemite frequently since I was a young child. Many of the earliest photographs I ever made were in the park, so the prospect of shooting weddings there gets me all kinds of excited.
