Actually, this is a little combo engagement session/family session. Cassie is bringing an adorable little girl to her and Daniels marriage in a few months so we used the opportunity to get some new family portraits in while shooting their engagement session. Stephanie and Gabriel had their wedding back in October at the beautiful Wolf Lakes Lakeside venue. Loved having their little dogs act as ring bearers and they were super excited to run down the aisle too! Check out a few of my favorite images from the day.
For most of the year, I think Woodward Park is kind of plain and there are a multitude of other options for a session, but when fall finally comes to Fresno, the park becomes a technicolor beauty and I love shooting there. Check out a few of my favorites from Melanie and Brian's session.
For Amanda and Ryan's engagement session we cruised up to Lost Lake park on the San Joaquin River for a quick session for their Save the Date cards. We got some great light and some cool moments between these two - I'm looking forward to shooting their wedding in April!
Next up is Lacey and Justin's wedding from the beautiful Tuscan Gardens in Kingsburg, CA. This was an amazing group of people, with no shortage of huge personalities and I saw some things I've never seen before and I'm not sure I wanted to - just for kicks I shared a couple with you here. Sorry for the long gap in posts here, it's been a crazy summer/fall season and I have a lot to show! We're going to start with this wedding from late September, but keep your eyes on this site as new weddings are going to be posted every couple days or so. Julie and Johnny's wedding day took us all across the countryside starting at Julie and Johnny's home, then to The Vista near Merced, back to Chowchilla for the ceremony, and finally ending up in Fresno at the Raddison in downtown Fresno for the beautifully decorated reception. Big news! After 6+ years of being the sole photographer for my studio Mark Janzen Photography, I have added a 2nd photographer to the team and he's available now for weddings in 2012 and beyond. Craig Kohlruss is a legitimate, talented photojournalist who's brought his unique vision and storytelling ability to the local wedding photography community. His skills, developed over the last 20+ years shooting news in Northern California and currently with our own Fresno Bee, meld perfectly with the documentary focus that Mark Janzen Photography brings to weddings. When looking at bringing on another photographer to shoot weddings for my studio, I couldn't have imagined a better fit and I'm honored and excited to have him on board. Since I don't have anything big to announce right now, and yesterday was Halloween, I thought I would show off my kids a little in their adorable costumes. My son Jack is dressed as the Pokemon Raichu in a costume that was lovingly sewn by my talented and beautiful wife Leslie. And my sweet little girl Merrill is dressed as Little Red Riding Hood in a costume that was custom made by my ridiculously talented sister, Jennifer.
We did a little something different for Courtney and Doug's engagement session, starting with shooting at a location I've never used. It's pretty popular among photographers, but I just never got around to checking it out.
