This is another "new to me" location. After repeatedly driving through Friant on my way to many other places, I decided to meet Brie and Adrian in the town and shoot in that area. Once again, we were blessed with some remarkable light and made some great images. I hope you enjoy them!
For the Alvarado family's session, we decided to shoot in their home - my favorite kind of location. We spent a little time inside and outside in the back yard making lots of fun images, full of personality.
As is customary this time of year, I've been spending A LOT of time up in the hills. This session is a little old, back before everything turned brown, but it's a great look at this special time of year. We were blessed with a extraordinary morning complete with great light and some amazing clouds.
Jenna wanted something on the beach for her engagement session, so we picked a place that I had only used one other time - a long time ago. It's a pretty special place to me though, as it's the same place I asked my wife to marry me; the beautiful Montana de Oro state park. We started out in the town of Morro Bay before heading out to the park. Along the way we found a great little grove of eucalyptus trees which made for some nice variety before finishing up on the beach at sunset. Enjoy a few of my favorites!
This couple just asked for a quick engagement session ahead of their wedding this summer at Lake Tahoe. They already had one session, but their dog wasn't able to participate so we we met in a vacant field in the middle of Fresno and made some great images - he was an incredibly sweet dog!
So in my quest to get caught up on my blogging, I'm throwing up a big post showing all the families that took part in my Spring Portrait Event back in late March. Portrait events are a great way to refresh that old, outdated family portrait with a quick little 15 minute session - great for those little kids with short attention spans as well! For Melissa and John's wedding I once again had the chance to work with the fabulous Dawnelle of The Divine Event and once again she did not disappoint with the decor. Melissa's ideas were executed flawlessly! Working in new venues is an especially exciting thing for me, particularly hotels where there typically aren't a lot of "obvious" places to go shoot portraits - it takes a lot more creativity and tricks to make it all work. I loved the skeptical looks from Melissa that preceded looks of joy once I showed her the results of the back of the camera. Kristen and Spenser are getting married in a few weeks down in Temecula, CA but they came up here a few weeks ago to take advantage of the beautiful scenery we have in the local foothills every spring. This year's bloom was a very short one, but we totally nailed the peak for this session, it was an awesome display of color. Take a minute to enjoy a few of my favorites...
