When looking back at my weddings of 2013, I’m quite certain that Sarah and Michael’s wedding among the giant redwood trees near Santa Cruz will be right at the top of my most memorable wedding photography experiences. The venue was stunningly beautiful, nestled on a mountain side with giant redwood trees in every direction. While traversing the incredibly steep terrain certainly wasn’t easy, the pay off made it more than worthwhile. Add to the amazing venue the fact that Sarah, Mike, and every one of their friends and family were among the warmest and friendliest people I have had the pleasure of knowing, and it made for a wonderfully tight knit, intimate group, where capturing emotion filled moments came easily. The celebration started with a BBQ dinner and a campfire sing a long the night before the wedding followed by an amazing day among the trees. Finally as an extra special bonus, my good friend Katrina from Sedona came up and shot this wedding with me. It’s so inspiring to work with other, highly talented photographers. While I usually shoot alone, working with another photographer who’s at the top of their profession is an extra special treat. While most of the slideshow here is my work, she has significant and wildly awesome contributions to it as well. Enjoy!
