So in my quest to get caught up on my blogging, I'm throwing up a big post showing all the families that took part in my Spring Portrait Event back in late March. Portrait events are a great way to refresh that old, outdated family portrait with a quick little 15 minute session - great for those little kids with short attention spans as well! We had 9 families over two days take part, here's a few of my favorites...
Here's the Seronello family coming at you from Woodward Park in Fresno, CA. I just love this session - it was all about play and we got some great images. Of course there were a few of everyone smiling nicely into the camera, but nothing beats a family in action! Enjoy!
Heading downtown for another urban family portrait session. This time around it's the Kelley family. I shot Aubrey and Aaron's wedding a few years ago, somewhat early in my career. It's cool, because all those earlier clients of mine are turning around having babies right and left! As a bonus I just heard that there's another one on the way! So, congrats to the Kelley's, and I'm looking forward to meeting the next little one...
You saw the Lynn's maternity session late last fall and now it's time to check out their little boy Colton who was born in late December (yes, I'm still a little behind in posting!). This guy already has a great head of hair and he's making me incredibly jealous! Check out a few of my favorites...
Enjoy a few images from the Lassen family's portrait session at Woodward Park. I absolutely LOVED their little girl and as a first for me, I had my cheeks squeezed by one of my subjects. It was definitely a good time, and I can hardly wait to see the prints over the fireplace in their new home.
This session is all about mom and her two kids. Sometime kids just want to play and don't want anything to do with having their picture taken. So, instead of stressing about it, we shoot them playing! Kids are going to be kids and there's not a thing to do about it other than embrace it. If you do it, you end up with fabulous pictures of your HAPPY kids playing with that favorite toy. Those are things that you really want to remember in 20 years abyway - not the time when your kid was kicking, crying and screaming while you tried to have his picture taken.
Here's another session from a family home. If I you haven't heard me say it before, I absolutely love shooting in people's homes. Having the opportunity to photograph a family, and especially children, in the home they're growing up in is unmatched as a location as far as I'm concerned.
Next up is the Branch family and their two adorable daughters. We spent a little time cruising around downtown taking advantage of the cool colors, textures, and lines of the urban landscape. Enjoy!
