Here's another session from a family home. If I you haven't heard me say it before, I absolutely love shooting in people's homes. Having the opportunity to photograph a family, and especially children, in the home they're growing up in is unmatched as a location as far as I'm concerned.
This serious little sweetheart is turning one and I had the pleasure of documenting the milestone. There is one image in the gallery above - the close-up of her fingers twisted in the blanket - that is among my favorite images in recent memory. It's one of those things that any parent can understand - this is her special blanket and she loves to poke her fingers through the holes and hold on tight. I feel that, combined with her and her bottle in the background, this image completely tells the story of this time in her life. It's an image that will only become more special as she grows.

Kaitlin and Chas are getting married next year at the beautiful Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley - a gorgeous venue that I'm really excited to work in! This post though, is all about their engagement session on the family ranch just outside Clovis, CA. The day was an incredible one with electric blue sky and a clear views of the foothills and Sierras in the background. Aside from that one time when they sat down next to a HUGE RATTLESNAKE, everything was fantastic. Yeah, I said rattlesnake, and no, I suck, I didn't get a picture - I was too amazed at the site of one of the largest rattlesnakes I've had the pleasure of meeting in nature. Take a look at
So, I don't usually write a whole lot in these posts, but this wedding was unbelievable in so many ways. Most notably was how absolutely unshakeable Bianca and Justin were in the face of several "hiccups" on their wedding day. I'll just detail one of those unexpected happenings: The Ant Attack. Yes, I said "Ant Attack". Now, it could be expected that an outdoor wedding in a barn, on a ranch, could lead to potential "insect issues", but ants in the bride's dress is a little over the top for sure! Shannon and Luis are a medical powerhouse all the way from Miami. Well Shannon grew up here and Luis is from Spain, but they're a couple of doctors who'll be making their home in Miami after the wedding. We shot the session on Shannon's family's ranch. You've probably driven past it driving down Auberry Rd - it's the one with the fresh cherries and vintage trucks parked just inside the fence.

Jennifer and Matt were married in a ceremony at New Hope Church, followed by a reception at Copper River Country Club. Jennifer and Matt both played golf for Fresno State University while attending college, so having their reception at a local country club made total sense. I loved the favors - golf balls embossed with the couple's names and wedding date. I totally got my hands on a couple and look forward to hitting them around a course in the near future!
