Sarah and Edward | From the Wedding Lawn at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite National Park

I gotta love a May that sends me to Yosemite National Park TWICE for weddings. The first was an amazing day, and Sarah and Edward's wedding didn't disappoint either. After several straight days of rain - and more rain in the forecast for the wedding day - remarkably the clouds parted and didn't drop more than the tiniest of a sprinkle at any point during the day. Sarah was total trooper marching around the park, unafraid of a little dirt, in the quest for some amazing portraits. Sarah and Edward were married on the Wedding Lawn and the historic Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley following an afternoon roaming Cook's Meadow, El Capitan Meadow, and the Yosemite Falls trails for their portrait session.

Heather and Andy | A Yosemite Wedding from the Historic Chapel and Ahwahnee Hotel

Heather called me just a few short months ago to ask me about shooting her wedding in Yosemite. Of course I nearly leapt out of my chair at the chance. I've been going to Yosemite frequently since I was a young child. Many of the earliest photographs I ever made were in the park, so the prospect of shooting weddings there gets me all kinds of excited. I've photographed a few weddings in Yosemite Valley and I look forward to shooting many more Yosemite weddings. Below are a few of my favorites from Heather and Andy's wedding from the historic chapel in Yosemite Valley and their reception in the beautiful Mural Room in the old Ahwahnee Hotel - and of course many

Rosa and Mark – A Wedding from St. Columba in Chowchilla, CA

Alright, it's weird when you have the same name as the groom - your head is constantly snapping around because people keep saying your name... :) Rosa and Mark were married just over a week ago at St. Columba in Chowchilla, CA.  In a first of my career, I was asked, motioned, called, whatever you want to call it, up on the altar during the ceremony which allowed some great images that I have never been able to make.  Typically, I don't find a way up there - as I don't care to make, or be part of, a scene - but I certainly appreciate being given that type of access.  Below are a few of my favorites, I know Rosa and

Jennifer and Stephen | Holy Spirit Church & Pardini’s | Fresno, CA Wedding

Jennifer and Stephen were finally married a couple weeks ago in a beautiful ceremony at Holy Spirit Church followed by a fabulous reception at Pardini's in Fresno.  I say finally because from the sound of things I think they've were engaged for like 14 years - I know they've had me booked for looooong time.  I've got to throw out an honorable mention to the entertainment from the reception - a great cover band that I heard for the first time.  If you're looking for a live band for your wedding, definitely check out Run 4 Cover.  Special thanks to my friend, the talented Adam Gerling, for his help second shooting during the ceremony! Kristine and Bryan – Wedding from St. John’s and the Downtown Holiday Inn

Kristine and Bryan were married on a beautiful, crisp and cool day in March.  And aside from a small mishap regarding the delivery location for the flowers (don't worry, it all worked out!), everything was fantastic!  St. John's is one of my favorite churches and keeping everything downtown made for easy use of some cool locations for the portraits.  Check out a few of my favorites below...

Leah and Blair | Wedding from Reedley MB and the Family Orchard

Leah and Blair had a spectacular plan for their wedding day - and with more than a few nervous looks to the sky hoping the rain wouldn't come, it came off beautifully. Leah's family orchard was in full bloom and made for a perfect setting for photographs and the backdrop to their reception in the barn. Their ceremony took place at the Reedley Mennonite Brethren church. The highlight of the day is when Leah and Blair arrived to the reception in a fully restored Ford Model A, driving down the grassy lane planted down one of the orchard rows. I must also mention the talented Mr. Mariano Friginal accompanied me to shoot video - see the sweet trailer here. Here's (more than)

Katie and John’s wedding from Copper River Country Club

Katie and John have got to be the luckiest two people on earth!  On a day when rain was certain, they had an outdoor ceremony and the rain held off until about 20 minutes after the ceremony ended - just perfect to get a portrait session in.  Thankfully, we had a gorgeous day through the afternoon and the clouds just started to roll in as the ceremony began.  After it finished raining during the reception we went back out for some cool night-time portraits to finish off the night. Congrats Katie and John!  Here are a few of my favorites...
